Scalped Magazine Submission Guidelines
We are committed art, poetry and fiction publishers here at Scalped. We aim to publish both new writers as well as professionals. Despite your experience you should aim to send your best work to our magazine. Submission guidelines are not important until you polish your work. Please edit your work before you send it to us.
These are the guidelines for our writers, if you would like to submit art check out the theme below and then go to our artist guidelines and instructions.
- Your story or poem must coincide with the theme for our next issue.
- The maximum word count for fiction, nonfiction and prose is 6,000 words. The maximum line count for poetry is 50 lines.
- We accept submissions via our online submission form only. When you paste your work into the form, please make sure there is some white space between the paragraphs; we would greatly appreciate it!
- We will get back to you within three months. Please do not send more than three works at a time. Wait until you hear back from us to submit another piece.
- We do not accept previously published pieces, unless they have only been published on a personal website.
Payment: At this time, we are unable to pay our artists and writers. We will, however, add your name to our artists and/or writers page with a link to any work you have had published in Scalped. We will also add your work to our archives page.
Rights: When you allow us to publish your work online we require three months of exclusive rights, and then non-exclusive rights to keep your work in our archives.
